Earth Day

A day for celebrating the Earth and pledging to protect it

Earth day

Earth Day is the biggest environment event on the planet, when people all over the world join in celebrating our Earth and pledging to protect it.  Visit the Earth Day website

The first Earth Day was proclaimed on 22 April 1970 to highlight the need to conserve the Earth’s natural resources. Over the years Earth Day has become an occasion for reassessing the planet’s problems of air, water and soil pollution, and demanding solutions that will safeguard the environment and reverse the damaging effects of human activities – solutions such as recycling of materials, conserving natural resources and using renewable energy.
